Psalm 22

Rhythmic outline – This outline is my take on how the song goes. The sequences and order of David’s experience as expressed in this Psalm. I will present this again at the end and emphasize what He expressed from a place of crisis. I emphasize that this is my take on the organization and not inspired. It is just a means to capture the flow of his interaction with God.
We have all had a bad day at various times, maybe not as serious as being pursued by family to kill you (Absalom) or being rejected and scorned by everyone and living in a cave (Sauls’s pursuit). But MOST of us HAVE EXPERIENCED REJECTION, SLANDER, JUDGMENT, HATRED, DISSAPOINTMENT, FINANCIAL LOSS, PHYSICAL PAIN, EMOTIONAL PAIN AND SOME EVEN TORTURE.

- Plea – Nations surround – trouble near (11-13) Present

The key truths are: David had many troubles, He was honest with God and remembered his provisions to work through the praise. Also see the clear allusions to the coming Messiah as a suffering servant and king.
Next steps
- Be honest with God – He knows already – nothing is too small to talk with him. He cares
- Respond to trouble with remembrance and Praise – this is always the path to peace in any time of trouble. As David said in another Psalm 121: 8 “ The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forward and forever.”
- Respond by telling others of His provisions – Share your story and Gods faithfulness to His glory.
